Is it normal to have so much numbness that it hurts when you get in the shower? It was literally torture to shower this morning

Hi Leah,

I didn't experience that, although my left thigh is still numb...Do you have a shower head that is strong?? Sorry I can't be of more help...How are you doing since your ps?? Hope all is well :))

Hi Leah, I am still very numb along my TT line and where I am swollen on back/flanks. I don't feel pain unless I reach for something and I get the stretchy burning feeling once in a while. I don't let the water directly hit my incision lines for the most part but have not pain from the streaming water...humm....maybe the nerves are waking up?

Leah,

I had that when some of my nerves were waking up, so I had to turn down the pressures of shower head.  I am still numb in a lot of areas as well.

It must be nerves. It's intense and mainly on my hips and sides. Awful.

I have little to no numbness anywhere, so I feel nearly everything, including the pain of the shower. It sounds to me like you are describing the hypersensitive feeling of nerves waking up...and that is a very good thing, even if it doesn't feel like it yet!

I had brachio 5 wks. ago and am still very VERY hyper-sensitive all the time over every part of my upper arms: in the shower, feeling like very cold arms all the time, resting them on a table, etc.  Sounds very normal to me.  Re: the numbness, my TT w/extensive hernia repair from two years ago has left me still with total numbness fully across my tummy, hip to hip and top to bottom, but the sensitivity is no longer present there .
