I hate to compare myself to others but honestly my stomach is a mess and I have no hope for it...lol...I have seen some miracles on sites of surgeons but was wondering if anyone had a stomach like this or worse...I am 172 in the pictures...currently 162 and working to get down to 147-150 so hopefully that will help. I am 80% leaning towards Dr. S but have no idea if he can handle this mess I have made...PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR THOUGHTS: I can handle it.

UPDATE: I SENT MY PICTURES TO DR. S ALREADY AND HE ADVISED WHAT HE WOULD LIKE TO DO AND STATED THAT I SHOULD HAVE AN EXTENDED TUMMY TUCK W/O THE ANCHOR...HE SAID IF I GOT THE ANCHOR I CANNOT HAVE THE FAT INJECTIONS...I AM OPEN TO WHATEVER WILL GIVE ME THE BEST RESULTS...I AM MEETING WITH DR. CHAPIN @ 7 THIS EVENING TO SEE WHAT HE SAYS...THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR INPUT.

I know exactly how you feel. I look at pictures all of the time on OH and most don't look as bad as mine. I look very similar to you. Smaller arms and legs are ok but carry in my middle. I am close to your weight and even when I lose now, it's usually in my arms and legs. Stomach doesn't change much. I had my breasts done last year and have scheduled a LBL (anchor cut) with lipo of back and flanks in March. My plastic surgery told me that exercise and more weight loss wouldn't improve my mid section much. He said that it needs to be surgically removed. We'll see. I can't wait! Good luck and let us know what your PS says.

Yes he can help you for sure.  You might not have a perfect 6 pack but I'm sure Dr. S or many other surgeons who specialize in body reconstruction after massive weight loss can help you.  If you have insurance I suspect it may even cover panniculectomy but that will only address the lower stomach so you'll want to upgrade to a lower body lift or full tummy tuck with anchor cut and muscle repair.

I am sure Dr S can work his magic on you! My guess would be he will recommnend a lower body lift with anchor cut. ...I can't wait to see you post-op! You are going to be one hot mama!!!!
Good luck with your journey!

I look near identical to you.  I had a consult for plastic surgery and I decided to wait until August of 2010 for a few reasons.  I have about ten more pounds I want to get off before plastics yet too.  I am looking at the anchor tummy tuck.  I feel like most of the stomachs I see on OH boards are not as extreme as mine.  When I have my clothes on, they fit funny at times.  I have even wore bounding garments around my mid-section, but I still just have too much excess skin.  I very much am looking forward to what plastic surgery can do for me!  Good Luck to you too!

He provided me with several options and described the pros and cons of each.  Due to my second job exposing me to second hand smoke, I have decided to wait until my body is "smoke free".  This will allow my surgeon to complete extensive muscle reattachment needed for a successful anchor tummy tuck.  He said that I have stretched skin in both directions; horizontally and vertically and that an anchor tummy tuck would provide the best results.  There are four things total I would like corrected on my body due to my weight loss.  He said I could pick the anchor tummy tuck and one other for the first procedure but that would be his limit.  He said it is not normally healthy for a patient to be under for more than eight hours and that is all he is willing to commit to.  I was very pleased with the information he provided me.  I will be going back for another consult prior to surgery and have more details.  I am looking at a medial thigh lift in conjunction with an anchor tummy tuck.  I figure at this point, anything is better that what I am working with!  I am so sick of tucking in extra skin into my jeans.  It's gross and my clothes don't fit right.  Any change will be an improvement.
