Anyone had there surgery through a teaching/residency program?  If so where?  How much did it cost/ did you save?  And where you happy with the results?  Also, how do you find these places and their fees?

Thanks

please feel free to email me.  I used the PS residency program in boston massachusettes in november with a lower face lift, and then last week, with a BL/BS and TT.  Saved literally thousands of dollars and extremely pleased and satisfied.  I met with both of the attending physicians with the chief residents prior to the surgery so i was able to do a search on creditials etc....if you have any questions, feel free to ask.  You can also see my before and after pics on my profile from my face lift.

Just had my TT with residentcy program at KU Med Center in Kansas on Friday. Will see what it looks like for the first time on Thursday. I will update more information later in the week. I knew KU was a teaching hospitall and just called as asked if they had a plastic surgery residency program and that started the ball rolling. I also looked at their web site. It had a lot of info.

I used the Baylor Residency Program in Houston.  I have been extremely pleased with every phase of my surgery.  My scars are beautiful and I had the best aftercare.  I am scheduled for round 2 in February.  I saved thousands by using a residency program as opposed to using a private practice surgeon.   PM me if you have any questions.

I am having my ps with University of Florida SHANDS @ Gainesville.  I had to have emergency hernia repair with them and I love the hospital/staff and while in there for that I found they had a residency program for PS and am looking forward to them and they are literally half the price of what I was looking at for the same procedures.

Thanks for the info, can you tell me what your surgery's should have cost and what you were able to actually pay since it was a teaching/residency hospital?

I had a tummy tuck in Nov. at UFC in Tampa, FL.  with Dr. David Smith and his residents.  If the residents do the work,  supervised by Dr. Smith, it is half price.  If you have insurance(or just want to pay the reg. price) Dr. Smith will do the work, assisted by the residents.  My insurance paid for the whole thing and I was very pleased with the outcome.  They are very attentive and kind there.
Good luck with your future surgery!
