Incision Problems!

Okay, it's me again.  I'm going to try not to blow up this board with lots og ??s.  But I'm only 2 weeks post op from my tummy tuck.  Since this morning my incision is opening up.  Why?  I have been laying down faithfully!  I've been sleeping on my couch propped up with pillows.  I've read that people are walking bent over, but I never did that.  Was I supposed to?  Is that why my incision is opening up?  It also has to holes in it and is leaking.  This is just too gross for me.  My husband is trying to take me to the ER.  I texted pics to my surgeon this morning but he hasn't responded yet.  Am I over reacting?  Thanks in advance.

I panicked when my thighs started to open. I thought it was much worse than it was. The doctor just cleaned it out ,told me I had new tissue growing and it was healing. What I am left with is just a wider scar but it is smoother. As long as its not draining to much or is really deep you may not need to worry. Trust your doctor if they say you are ok. There are most likely layers of stitches and only the top is open. Hope everything turns out ok for you.

No you are not overreacting!  I would call your doctor just to be sure.  You should have been walking bent over just to avoid extra tension on the incisions. Most people walked bent over for a few days to a week and some up to 6 weeks.  Make sure you are eating plenty of protein and taking your  vitamins faithfully.  There was one lady on here who had a large area on her incision open up at 3 weeks and had to go back into surgery to have it closed back up.  She admitted that she wasn't eating like she should have and said that that was one of the reasons why.

Hello love please stop in and tell us how you are doing?  I had a wound opening and was told to wet/dry pack it.  Were you able to get to the ER and talk to your doctor?
