Just 2 quick questions re: Anchor TT
I have a list of questions for my surgeon when I see him on the 13th for my pre-op visit, but in the meantime I am still curious about a few things. I will be having a large hernia repaired and a Anchor TT on the 19th of this month.
Anyhow, here are my 2 quick questions:
1) How long was your hospital stay?
2) Did you walk the halls the same day as surgery? (I was up and walking 2 hours after being taken back to my room from Open RNY).
And that's all I'm really curious about right this very minute.
Thanks,
Fran

I had my anchor tt Nov 4th. I stayed overnight. I didn't get out of the bed until the next morning, but I still had a catheter and I was very sleepy from anesthesia. I got out of surgery I think around 5 or 6 PM and went home 8 am the next morning. I wasn't in a hospital though. Mine was done in my dr's facility and I was the only patient there (and I had a wonderful night nurse).
I had my Anchor tt around 6am on Tuesday morning and stayed in the hospital until Friday afternoon, I then went home but had to report back to my Dr. On Tuesday morning. I actually asked to get up and walk just a few hours after getting back to my room but they had me on full bed rest. They did let me get up and take a shower at about 4 am the next morning. Good luck and keep us posted!
jFran, I stayed 2 nights in the hospital when I had my anchor cut TT on Nov. 11th. Was only planning on staying 1 night, but my blood pressure dropped a little low and they wanted me to stay the extra night. They wouldn't let me get out of bed until the morning after surgery, even though I wanted to get up and go to the bathroom. I hate bedpans!
Good luck with your surgery, I'm sure you'll do great!
