PANNI patients..

I'm actually waiting for my insurance approval for a panniculectomy right now. I've had significant weight loss (on my own) but have a lot more to go, but have such a huge pannus right now it's impossible to move around and exercise like I want to so I just went into the PS office and he was so nice! I hope they approve it.. I have documentation of rashes, etc too.. Anyway, the PS told me that the "muffin top" will still be there, but honestly, it doesn't bother me because my pannus is so huge I just want that gone. I will deal with the muffin top on my own. Plus they do have garments to help smooth that area, unlike a huge panni.. I wouldn't even be able to pay for the extra abdominoplasty since the panniculectomy will be such a big operation in the first place, so I'm fine with it. Good luck!!

You sound just like me and I totally agree with that approach.  I don't care if I am left with the muffin top roll.  I can work on that when the pannus is gone.

Good to hear that your PS was really nice.  I go for my consultation next monday and I sure hope my doc is calming and reassuring.  Nothing worse than showing all that business to a total stranger--or a stranger that is a man!  I know he sees it all the time and sees worse but you know, he's never seen mine!   Good luck to you too.

Yay!! Someone in my shoes too! ;) (you know what I mean lol)
I actually went to  (or should I say TRIED to) a couple of PS before this one.. Long story, message me and I can tell ya...
Anyway, still waiting. I called them yesterday and they sent it on to their insurance first, then they send it to mine.. So patiently I wait.. I am really hoping for it. Good luck on yours! Do you know if your insurance covers it or not??

So they can do an anchor cut panniculectomy? I'm just curious.

Depends on the surgeon.  Panni coverage is not that much under insurance, so it's purely how much work the surgeon is willing to do for that price.......

I don't just have issues, I have subscriptions!  I'm saving on the newsstand price.......

You can look at my pictures on my profile. I had the panni done (insurance paid) and my PS 'disconnected' my belly button and pulled down all the skin, then replaced my BB where it should be.

I now no longer have the swelling that shows in my pictures. I have no muffin top either that I definitely had (before pictures). You can tell how much was pulled down by looking for the reddish scar from my gallbladder removal a month before.

I can't believe the difference.... I not only had a large weight loss, but 5 pregnancies as well. I will post more pictures this week at 6 weeks post op.
