A surprising Dr. Vist!!

So I went to see my Dr. today as I posted earlier and much to my surprise he pulled all 4 of my drains!! None of them had drained over 20cc's any day since surgery so he decided there was really no use in leaving them in. It wasn't nearly as painful as I expected it to be, but I watched as they came out...and that may have been a mistake...he pulled them out two at a time...so it was over quick but I was standing and for just a split second I thought my knees were going to buckle both times. But OMGosh...I feel SOOOOO much better now that they are out, it's amazing the difference it's made in how I feel and get around.. I'm even going to atempt to give up the pain meds...at least until bedtime.  I had resigned myself to being stuck with the drains for at least 2-3 weeks so I really didn't let myself be too bothered by them and now they're already gone and I'm estatic!!

They also removed my staples and want to see me back in a week so that he can remove the stitches around my belly button. Overall a great appt! Thanks for listening!!

CongratZ!!!  It sounds like you are doing very well, please don't stop your pain meds too soon, its hard to catch back up if you get behind and end up in a lot of pain!  Robin

OH! I also forgot to add that i'm down to 134 lbs!!! that's 6 lbs UNDER my origional goal!!! I think though that once all the swelling is gone and life starts to settle down I'd like to hover around 130...125...We shall see!!

I've had lots of drains and NEVER have any of them hurt. They do feel weird coming out, I'll admit. One of mine fell out all by itself!

The drain was the biggest pain of the whole surgery.   Just got my last drain out yesterday.   I slept all night long.

I can only hope to do as well as you...Congrats.  

 Drains are such a necessary evil. I totally agree that getting them out is so liberating.

sounds like you are doing awesome!  If you don't mind me asking...but did insurance cover your tummy tuck?  I am seeing dr. warnock also!  I cant wait to get a tummy tuck!  How long is the recovery time?  That is what is going to hold me back!  I have to build some time up for surgery!
