Anyone had complications with no insurance?
My surgery is Friday and my insurance does not cover plastics. Just worrying about complications and the extra costs that could be associated with it. Anyone else have any thoughts or can tell me what the extra costs were?
My hubby says I am always worrying about what to worry about next. I just don't want to cost any extras.

My surgeon automatically takes out an additional insurance policy on each patient (part of his fee) in case of complications, etc. You might ask if this has been done on your behalf and if so, find out what it covers.
Pre op lab tests, pain pill prescription, and triple antibiotic ointment were my extras. Also, one compression garment was provided but I bought a couple extra at my expense so I'd always have a clean one.
Good luck on Friday. I know we have different surgeons, but I think I told you the resident that was in on my surgery will be doing your surgery, and you are gonna love your scar! Please post to let us know how you are doing when you are able.
Congratulations,
Cindy

Just got word Dr. Spikes has been transfered so the Head of Plastic surgery will now be doing the surgery. Thanks for the encouragement. No extra insurance. So that is why I am worried.
I will post as soon as possible.

Cosmetassure is an insurance plan that covers complications after plastic surgery. It's pretty inexpensive and many docs include it in their package pricing.
