What do they do to fix them; just remove the skin?

he numbed the area and then just cut & tucked the skin and it looks great, I had them also but after about 6 months they smoothed out

I unfortunately had a bad experience with removal of a dog ear.  The dr went beyond his markings somehow.

He did mark me before the procedure but somehow prior to the procedure he wiped the area and removed his markings.  He gave me more anesthesia once he realized his mistake but he did not allow for it to become numb and he continued cutting and I was screaming to the top of my lungs.  I had said I would never have another surgery unless it was medically necessary...but I just had a procedure done this past July.  The dog ear is gone and I am okay but I don't know if I will ever allow another doctor to put me under local and trust him/her.

I was just frozen, cut and sewn up in the office for a small revision a few weeks ago. It didn't hurt at all, but yeah I did feel him moving some stuff around. It was certainly pain free. Take someone with you though, better to have a friend or family member there for support. All the best.
