Today is day 9 post op for me and I feel like a different person today.   I was able to sleep from 11-7 and Dr. S removed 3 of my 4 drains.  I didn't fell the thigh drains coming out but oh boy that abdominal one stung.   Well, just wanted to share with everyone out there that it does get better.   I can't wait to go home and fell completely human again. I am still very swollen but I will try to post some pictures later.

I'm so glad you feel better...having the drains out definitely helps. The forth drain was the one that stung the most for me. I wanted to climb the wall when it came out...the stinging was soooo bad!! You'll feel even better once the sutures are removed.

Lucky girl...getting to sleep for 8 hours in a row. I still haven't been able to sleep all the way through the night.

I can't wait to see how Dr. S worked his magic on you.

Gee thanks Suzie...now I know that the last drain will probably hurt worse...It felt like he was taking it out super duper slow....I'd prefer if he'd just yank it out..haha....So, I take it you all made it home ok.  I bet the kiddos were excited to see you guys.  Did you already weight? I know that's probably the first thing I'll do.  I showed Dr S. my belly and told him I was worried about a certain poochie area and he says it's all swelling and that it all should go away.  I'm hoping that it happens pretty quickly.  Well, I'm counting down my days...I'm so ready to sleep in my own bed.

Haa...I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that last drain will likely sting quite a bit. It actually didn't hurt at all coming out...until the opening. I think it must be due to the opening healing over, and then being forced open again. The sutures weren't too bad, but not pleasant, either.

I did weigh this morning...up 4 pounds. I know it's all due to swelling, though. I am really, really swollen, especially after all the flying, sitting, and standing yesterday. I felt pretty good this morning but within a couple of hours I swelled up just as bad as I was late last night. Plus it just. plain. hurts. I can not wait to feel just a little bit like normal again.

When are you going home?
