Its just around the corner - 3 more days........

Tried to rent a lift chair - but could not find a medical supply place *****nted - so between the couch and bed It will have to do.

I have a potty lift (from when my mom had a hip replacement)

whare else?

2.5 weeks off work - with some a work from home on  the PC too  - so I hope I won't have to take but 45-50 hrs of personal time off over the 2.5 weeks

I just worry about the lipo, bruising, and infection -- pain I can handle

wish me luck

You will do great!

I didn't have a lift chair, but I used my recliner to sleep in EVERY night up until about... last night. I could not get comfy in bed.

The toilet lift chair was very helpful the first week or so.

Also, so was a shower chair. I paid about $20 for it after my WLS. I felt quite weak in the first week or two. And, with the drains and such in the way, it was just helpful. I used a piece of yarn around my neck and safety pinned the drains to that while I showered so they weren't just dangling and I didn't pull them out.

  - I will learn to let go what I cannot change, but I will change whatever I can. Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ

Have you taken your vitamins today?

Hi Donna,

I rented a lift recliner from rent a center for $100.00 for one month ( minimum rental time). Do you have a rent a center in your area?? I found the lift recliner invaluable in my recovery....best of luck with your surgery!!! Lynette

great idea -- I never gave a "rent a center" a thought!  I will call them today

I bought a grabber so I could pick up stuff off the floor when no one was around to help.  I kept dropping my remote or cell phone on the floor because I'd move my blanket to get up from the recliner and forget they were either on my lap or next to my lap.  You can get one at Target or CVS or even Walgreens.

Good luck!

I did ok in my regular bed with extra pillows and an arm chair.  My toilet isn't super low so that was ok too.  Put extra TP on the back of the toilet so that you're not bending down for it.  Basically anything that you can put at counter height will be a happier time.

Can't agree enough with the stool softener suggestion - my first BM was so bad my mom had to take a walk b/c she couldn't listen to me in that much pain - ok maybe TMI there...

I did an arnica program that I got from makemeheal.com (SinEcch) which I really believe reduced my bruising and swelling a lot - my PS said that she believes in arnica as well.

Good luck - I am so excited for you!
