I didn't have a lift chair, but I used my recliner to sleep in EVERY night up until about... last night. I could not get comfy in bed.
The toilet lift chair was very helpful the first week or so.
Also, so was a shower chair. I paid about $20 for it after my WLS. I felt quite weak in the first week or two. And, with the drains and such in the way, it was just helpful. I used a piece of yarn around my neck and safety pinned the drains to that while I showered so they weren't just dangling and I didn't pull them out.

Hi Donna,
I rented a lift recliner from rent a center for $100.00 for one month ( minimum rental time). Do you have a rent a center in your area?? I found the lift recliner invaluable in my recovery....best of luck with your surgery!!! Lynette

Good luck!
Can't agree enough with the stool softener suggestion - my first BM was so bad my mom had to take a walk b/c she couldn't listen to me in that much pain - ok maybe TMI there...
I did an arnica program that I got from makemeheal.com (SinEcch) which I really believe reduced my bruising and swelling a lot - my PS said that she believes in arnica as well.
Good luck - I am so excited for you!
