Cicumferential lower body lift scheduled Feb. 12th--need advice

I am very excited but also a little concerned.  I am taking three weeks off from work.  Will this be enough?  I work as a secretary so I am seated at a computer all day (ten hour days).  I purchased a recliner to sleep in after surgery because I was afraid I might not be able to get in and out of bed easily.

I am also concerned about pain.  I already use liquid Loritab 1-2 tsp every night for joint pain in order to sleep.

I try to eat cooked apple every day to stay regular.  Most of my diet is soft--yogurt, cottage cheese, fruit but I do eat nuts a lot to get in protein.  More than 2 ounces of meat and I get sick so I have become dependent on nuts for protein supplements.  I usually am sucking on Tums every night after I try to eat a meal or taking liquid phenargen for nausea.  Was there any discomfort after surgery with regards to eating?  Should I still try to get stool softeners or laxatives?

Any advice anyone can give me would be appreciated!
This too will pass, like a kidney stone but it will pass!

Oh my!  I only had a TT/Pannic and I was out 8 weeks.  Of, course I was ready to go back after 4 wks but I got an infection and landed in the hospital. But for what you are having done, I would say no.

I would think you need more time then that especially working 10 hrs a day,  it might be hard sitting that long.
no problem eating post-op except that I wasn't hungry

Maybe I missed it, but why are you still on a soft diet?  And why do you need to take antacids and phenargen?

I am still on soft diet and antacids/phenargen because my body does not like most foods.  I can eat meat, for instance, but after eating I will get very queasy and only phenargen settles the pain and nausea down.  Carbs also make me sick but I think that is because they break down into sugars in my system and I "dump".

This is just how my new body works--I am used to it but do wish occasionally I could eat just one normal meal without the nausea!

I went back to work after 4 weeks. Felt fine w/ the exception of being very tired by the end of the day. Would come home and just sleep. I had very little pain w/ my LBL. Was pretty much off the pain killers after 4 or 5 days w/ the exception at night. I didn't have any issues since I was off the pain killers so quickly. If you are having bathroom issues now you probably will want to maybe start w/ a stool softener just to be on the safe side. After my LBL I really had no appetite at all. Just ate because my mom made it for me and used a lot of protein bars and drinks to keep the protein levels up to help w/ the healing.

Great to hear this---my plastic surgeon said 3 weeks would be fine.

As for bathroom issues, coffee in the morning usualy makes me "go".  I will get stool softeners just to be on the safe side however.

Thank you for the response!

i am almost two weeks after a surgcomference body lift and upper thigh lift  the most discomfort I have is from the thighs.  very little discomfort from the body lift.  I would probably be ready to go back to work after three weeks, but would be very tired.  I took off 4 weeks and am hoping  I will be ready.

I was 3 weeks post op yesterday from my BL/LBL/butt aug and I could have gone back to work this week....  however I'm an educator and we are on holiday break right now.  I will be going back on Monday.  Most of my pain or should I say discomfort was from the butt aug.  No real pain to speak of just discomfort!!!

Paige, that is impressive.  AND good to know.  I need what you had done in the fall.  BUT I'll also need an extended thigh lift and BA.
