So the bad news...

After feeling like a champ for the first week post op, my right calf started killing me Saturday night.  I limped through Sunday knowing I had an appt with my PS Monday afternoon.  She took one look at me, sent me for an ultrasound and it turns out I have not one but two blood clots in my leg.  We went back and forth on whether I should be admitted to the hospital but ultimately decided that because I have a friend who lives in my building who could give me the injections of blood thinners, I would go home.  The alternative was potentially sitting in the ER at the hospital for several hours and I just wanted to get the thinners on board.  I have an appt with a hematologist tomorrow to get this sorted out.  Hopefully I don't have a portion of the clot break off tonight.  Nightmare!  Goes to show you - if you have pain that's not normal for you call your DR!!!

Thank goodness you found out and can do something about it. I am always worried about something like this. Take care .

Oh no 2 blood clots.  Yikes.  Hopefully the blood thinners will take care of that in no time.  Let me know how your doing.

Hugs

So sorry Dana to hear about the clots, and thank goodness you did listen to your body and seek medical attention right away. Dr. Agha started me on Heparin the day of surgery and my family continued to give me shots until I think the 7th day....I'll keep you in my prayers for a speedy recovery from the clot issue....Hugs, Lynette
