Hello I have Kaiser I went to see the doctor today they gave me some cream for my abdominal rash. My doctor said in Feb he will take pics and submit for insurance to look over and hopefully approve my panniectomy.

How much documentation did all of you who got insurance to pay have to submit????

I will go the mile and some, but I need to know generally how often I should be complaining???

How many creams do I need????
What kind of documentation???
home pics???
what exactly???

What do they think is and is not a necessity for a panniectomy
.

Thank you to all of you who took the time to read my post!!!!!!

I'm very interested it this as well, I'm not even close to having plastics but I have kaiser and I was wondering about their requirements for future use...
(I'm already having problems with the "belly skins" and I know it's only going to get worse)

I don't have Kaiser, but my Panni was approved due to rashes and the amount of hanging skin.  Make sure you take pictures when your rash is particularly bad (which never seems to be when you have a Dr's appt.).

Good Luck!

I don't have Kaiser either...... I never had a rash and was approved just on pictures and amount of weight loss. Good luck!!

Aloha Jenn-
Not Kaiser here either but...one PS I went to said he wouldn't even submit- despite the 190 lb weight loss, my pannus did not hang below my pubis ( he said that was the insurance company's criterion) and I had far worse infection issues when I carried all the weight- now that it's just skin, it doesn't behave as it did pre op. But the second PS I consulted with said the amount of weight loss alone should qualify me- so she submitted pictures and I was approved. I'd have Kaiser (as well as  you) photodocument any fungal or bacterial infections ( red itchy blotchy odiferous areas) as well as remedies attempted ( creams, special soaps, wipes, RX and OTC meds) and hope for the best.
Good luck- XOLori
