To do - or not to do - an Anchor Tummy Tuck

I didn't have an ancor cut and I think my tt looks great (add me as a friend and you can see), I had muscle tightening and honestly I hear everyone talk about exercising frantically before surgery to get your muscles in shape but **** that I would rather pay a doctor to do it, my stomach looks better and tighten then it ever did when I was a teenager and its completely rock hard tight, like I actually do sit ups or whatever makes you have nice tight abs.  And I never did anything to try to stretch out my nice tight muscles afterwards, it always amazes me people want to exercise after getting them tightened, why so they stretch?  Um no thanks.

Good Luck

I'm one of the ones who had the anchor TT and had complications. My incision opened where incisions meet. NOT GOOD! My opening is about the size of a dime and now I have tunneling where the wound has to be packed daily (almost hip to hip) with packing tape. It's a horrible, horrible thing. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't do it. I just had it done on December 4, so maybe next year at this time, I will have a different opinion. When I saw my surgeon today, he said "you're still going to have great results". At this point, I could not care less about the results. I just want to heal and get better.
The complication I had is rare. And, it's usually characteristics of smokers. I've never smoked anything in my life...HATE the stuff. I'm also in good health. Bloodwork was excellent. So, it can happen to anyone.

Is there a difference between the anchor that I am reading about here and the extended tummy tuck? sounds like they are the same thing with different names but I'm not sure?

I too have the stretched out skin above my belly button, I "blame" that part on 4 pregnancies, and don't want that part left either! :)

Thanks everyone for all your feedback!

I've decided to go with the anchor cut.  I had the Dr show me what my tummy would look like without it - and I don't want that.
