Boobies or not?

I am getting a TT in the next few months and was hoping for some new and improved boobies. After a consult with my plastic surgeon I was discouraged from a breast lift. He said that due to my scars keloiding (and such a little amount of breast tissue remaining) he would like to do implants. He is pushing me towards silicone gel implants since they feel and look more "real". I have read OVER AND OVER about implants needing replaced every 10 years. Do any of you have this problem? Anyone know any more about this? THANKS!

I've heard the same thing about having to replace them after 10 years and some maintenance....which is why I'm looking for other options.....

I was given Cohesive Gel Implants (a.k.a. Gummy Bear Implants)...however I don't think they are approved yet for use in the States or Canada. But they have a lifetime warranty, and so far, they don't have the 10 year replacement quota that most other implants do. If you have very little breast tissue (as I did) the implants do the job of the lift, once they fully drop (can take a month or 2) and implants are usually placed under the muscle.

Did you get these in Mexico?  Was it Dr. Sauceda?  Did you get to pick them ahead of time or is more what is best for your type of breast?  Thanks, Robin

Yes I did go to Dr. Sauceda in Mexico. He sits down with you and takes lots of time in helping you select what is best for your situation. Discussing muscle placement, size and so on. However, he only does the cohesive gel, but once you feel them, you will be happy...they are extremely soft and natural feeling.

Are you there for a day before surgery or do you decide this right before you go into the O.R.?

Dr.S has everyone arrive a day prior to surgery. The marking for all of your procedures is done that night as well as any questions/concerns you may have. Most appointments last about 2 hours. If you have any changes in thought between then and when you go to the OR, he will address those as well on surgery day. He is very good with making sure you are sure about everything.

Hi, I had my implants done here in the United States almost 2 years ago  and I got the gummy bear implants. I believe they are approved here.

If you have almost no breast tissue left, I'd agree with him that you will probably want implants.

Before my implants, I could mash down on my puddles of skin that rested where my breasts USED to be and feel all my ribs underneath.  If I had have had that skin removed WITHOUT implants, I would have had NOTHING.  I'd have been as flat as a boy and would not have even needed a training bra.  Seriously flat.

I got Mentor saline implants.  They come with a warranty - no kidding!  They are the first breast implant manufacturer to do this!

Good luck!
