Checking in... had my TT on Monday
I had my first round of plastics on Monday (TT, anchor cut w/ mons lift) and they removed... are you ready? 24.6 lbs of skin. I had a rough first day. After I got to my room, my blood pressure started bottoming out and I was losing consciousness. Was talking to my Dr. and everything went BLACK. Scared me so much! I got 3 transfusions before they took me back into surgery and opened me back up to find the bleeding and stop it. Spent that night in ICU before they put me back in a regular room on the day I SHOULD have gone home. Planned to go home the next day, but my hemoglobin was still really low - she wanted to give me another transfusion but I my BP was improved and I wasn't lightheaded or anything so she finally agreed to let me go home on Wednesday night. Taking extra iron, getting lots of protein and sleep.
I'm feeling pretty good now, all things considered. Still have both drains, and I'm VERY, VERY swollen. My thighs are HUGE. Taking my pain meds still, but sometimes I can go as long as 6 hrs in between rather than 4. The last 2 days in a row, I have gone out and done some LIGHT shopping. It's good for me to walk around for a short time, and the fresh air helps too. Then, I am exhausted and have to sleep! But, I'm amazed that I feel well enough to do even that at 5 & 6 days out.
I'm happy with my results, from what I can tell under the swelling. I have (and she told me I might) some back rolls still. I started out over 435 lbs, and carried most in the middle, so the fact that she was able to do as well as she did is incredible!! I am thrilled with it NOW, so I'm sure after the swelling subsides I'll be a happy girl. I plan to eventually get a breast lift, and she said we could probably work on the back rolls more then if I feel like I want to.
Eventually, I will get pics up but that's not really my priority at the moment! (Plus, I'm VERY modest.)
Hugs!
