Had my 2nd LBL post-op followup appt with the surgeon

I had my 2 week follow up visit.
The surgeon was very pleased and says I'm healing beautifully.  He was amazed that the swelling went down so much that I could wear my pre-surgery jeans.  He said that's earlier than usual.

The only down side is that the big bruise on the right cheek developed a small hematoma and when the surgeon removed the steri-strips and was poking around it popped.  Blood poured out.  He said I kind of developed a blister like thingy and the skin is starting to peel off......nothing I have to worry about......I have to be sure to keep it covered with neosporian type cream. 

The upshot of it all is that the surgeon is happy, says everything looks great and I don't have to go back for 4 weeks!!!!!! 

I told the nurse when I come back we will discuss my next (and just be my last) procedure....the inner thighs. 

I love my surgeon and his nurse but I can't wait to be done with surgeries and recovery......

That's wondeful news, Ruth...especially getting into those jeans so early!

It sounds like you are doing great, Ruth. My PS told me that a hematoma can open up the incision, he said that in my case if it does that it would look like a crime scene . Hopefully Tuesday it will go away!!

My hematoma is a few inches lower than the incision....it's down on the cheek....I guess it hast o do with the "flap augmentation"....that's my guess...

OH cool about your pre-surgery jeans.  isn't it fun!!!

ME TOO..ME TOO!! I got brave enough to try on my presurgery jeans without the garment and they were slightly loose..yeah! I am glad you are doing so well. I got home last night after  8 hours on airplanes 3.5 hours of waiting before during flights...needless to say my back and legs were as swollen as day 3 by the time I got home last night..

YIKES you poor thing....I cannot imagine flying that long at this time....4 hrs in the car wore me out yesterday!

Sounds like you're doing great!  Congrats. 

I'm a little over 3 weeks post-op LBL and so far every pair of pants I've put on is loose.  I've been wearing mostly 10s and a few 8s but looks like I can plan on shopping the after Christmas sales for some 8s and maybe I'll even try on a few 6s and see if they fit.  I would never have believed that I would ever wear a single digit in anything....  God is SO Good!  and so is RNY!
