Sounds like you had a lot of good reasons for doing it now.
I am not at goal but have been at a stable weight since August so I feel like my body is done. People think it's too soon but I've talked to three PS who didn't suggest it was. I have a TON of skin and have intense skin infections because of it. I feel really at peace with my decision. My goal was just that a goal. It wasn't written in stone.
When I consulted with Dr. Agha, he said many people consult too late. If you have a BMI of 19 (of course I exaggerate for most), there isn't any fat to create a shape with, esecially if there were ever any desire for butt fat grafting. He prefers a BMI of 25-27.
Of course that doesn't mean you should be in catabolism because that would affect healing and your long term results, but if you haven't been losing more than a couple pounds a month for a few months, then PS may be in the realm of possibility. Some people will never get to "goal". I, for example, have at least 12 lbs to my personal goal, but I don't know that unless someone takes a leg off me, that its going to happen. Persevere though...today I'm doing the 5 day pouch test and going to kickboxing. Not much more I can do.

I wouldn't and didn't. I waited until I was at my goal and a good BMI.
Because I didn't have "fat" to be cut off or lipo'd out it has made my recoveries much easier! Basically I had skin removed. The only place I had some aggressive lipo done was on my arms and I'm still numb and healing (5 months later). Based on my arms I think relying on lipo to do major contouring must be very painful.
I'm so glad I listened to all the surgeons advice and got to goal before doing anything with my tummy and lower body.
