Dr. Q and LBL and stitches
still coming to the surface a year later....
Just went to my doctor and had one dug out today...ouch. The doctor didn't want to take the others that hadn't broken the skin yet but said he could refer me to a surgeon. He said they are like a running stitch and the tissue is all attach and to have them out could be a mess and leave more scarring. No one can really see them, but I do feel them pulling at times. Has anyone else had this problem?

There have been others here with similar issues. One lady from Canada has had some major issues with these sutures. She was told that these were an inappropriate type of suture for this type of surgery and that it was causing her serious issues. Hopefully, you will get more info and help from others that have been to Dr. Q and have similar issues.
Overall I have been happy with my lbl except the complications. When I got back to the states I was seen in an outpatient clinic for 3 months....overall LBL results I think are good but not happy about these stitches....and it could mean more pain plus more scarring to get them out since the tissue has grown in and around them.
I also had a fl and it is okay but I do think it could have been better and the scarring could have been less. But overall, okay there too. Hey I am alive! And the extra skin is gone! Knowing what I know now...and being saner...doubt I would do it again. I will say though that his two best areas were lbls (I know 5 plus people that have used him) and fls...I think the arms ones are hard. I don't have any pics of surgery on my profile, I could email them too you I have early post op, but no current ones. Somebody else asked me but after a few months I stopped taking naked pictures of myself!! LOL funny what you come to through this journey. Yeah, I am not sure I would go back to Mexico for medical care...it was such a difference here in post care....but of course the cost was much less down there....
I will check out your profile. How obvious are the stitches in your arms?
