Breast Augmentation options

Ok, so I had a breast reduction in Nov 2008 and then I had a "lift" done 3 months ago.

I'm not mad at my surgeon (cause I love him) but after this lift I'm left with very hollow breasts across the top....there is too much wrinkling of the skin.
I'm exploring different options to improve the breasts.  I really do not like the idea of an implant because I don't want to have to do it again in 10 years from now plus I fear it cause issues when going for a mammo.

Soooo.....has anyone done anything along the idea of using your own tissue to augment/fill out the breasts?  Is this doable or are implants the only real option?

I suppose one option would be to do another reduction thereby tightening the whole breast but I really didn't want to end up a small "B".  Although I guess it would be a very firm "B"...

Just looking for ideas....if you have any please share......
Thanks!

I was hoping Red would see your post. You might want to send her a PM. I know that she had breast augmentation using her own tissue.

There was a post a couple of weeks ago asking Dr L about the pros and cons about breast auto augmentation.   Lots of good info.  The only option is using some of your own tissue and there are some doctors who are in favor and others who are not.  Dr L is not which is why he won't do it for me when I do my arm lift next month.   I don't want implants either but I'd like to have more fullness on top.  I just don't want to deal with the maintenance of them plus not knowing if I'll have the money in the future for upkeep.  The info I've read about breast auto aug is enough to steer me away from it.  I don't want anything getting in the way of possible cancer detection.  That's just my opinion and I'm not willing to risk that for bigger boobies.  I'd probably go for the implants first if I had a choice and money wasn't an issue.   I've just got to learn to be happy with what I've got.   It's really hard though when you see all the women on here getting implants and looking great!

Here's the post I mentioned:

Ruth,
My PS says that if you go with saline, you do not have to redo them 10 years later.  As long as you have no problems, they can stay for good.  The silicone on the ohter hand do have to be redone.  Talk with your surgeon and get his take on this.

I was going to get silicone, but after he told me that and also that with silicone you have to get an MRI every year that may not be covered by insurance, I opted for the saline.  I'll be going under on 1/27!

Good luck!

Good to know...thanks for the input.
IF and that's a big fat IF I do decide to do an implant I would go with Saline just because the body can safely absorb it if there were ever a leak.   I didn't know you have to do an annual MRI with Silicone!

I am planning on discussing options with my Surgeon this Friday.  In the end I may jut decide to do nothing....

Actually implants installed UNDER the muscle make detecting abnormalities in mammograms EASIER.  (That makes sense if you think about it - that implant under everything pushes your "real" stuff up to the front for the machine to see easier.)

I did saline UNDER the muscle about a month ago for this very reason.

TOTALLY do!

I have a history of tumors in my breasts (as do most of the women in my family).  I've had to have one removed already.  So the mammogram thing was a real deciding issue for me.

Good luck!
