Revision Recovery

Here's my situation;  I am scheduled for a revision to my tt and bl/ba the first week of March.  That's my Spring Break from Grad School.  I would like to believe I will be well enough to return to class (2 1/2 hrs. 2 X a week) two weeks post-op.  In your experience, is it possible to return to class in 2 weeks?  My surgeon wants to do lipo and scar revision on my belly and lift my breast up a little.

I need to make a decision soon whether to drop the two classes I'm registered for or try to take them and pray that I can handle them while recovering.

Thanks you OH family for being so knowledgeable and free willing with your advice and experience.

Hi Sherline. One week ago I had TT, TL, lipo, BA/BL, and Fat grafting to the booty and I went with my surgery sisters to the mall out here for 2 hours. I would say it is very doable (with no complications) if you dont have to carry lots of heavy books....

I think it might be a bit difficult.  There is a big difference between a single 2 hr shopping spree and taking 2 post grad classes.  You will not only be in class for 2.5 hrs 2 days a week but based on my own classes in recent years I'm assuming you will putting in many hours reading, researching and writing papers.

Personally I would feel more comfortable taking 1 class this semester and then perhaps do the other in the summer if it is offered.

Just my 2 cents........

Best wishes on your decision.

I would ask your doctor what he expects for recovery and what is really doable.  I had a major revision to my thighs - a 2 hour in office revision.  It was expected that I would be fine to go on a cruise 3 weeks later.  I would have been fine, but I developed a horrible infection in my leg and ended up in the hospital for 6 days, and still made my cruise, but was way less than 100%  Revisions are not as hard as the initial surgery, and recovery is much faster.

I'm guessing you'll be OK. I didn't have revision but was back to work in 10 days after my MTL & BA/BL. That was 8 hours a day and really felt fine. Not too overly tired when I came home from work,

I think you will be fine to return to school....just keep your feet up in a chair! That's what I did as well as stayed on top of water and vitamins and all my protein!!! You can do it!
