post LBL and gallbladder removal?

Has anyone had their gallbladder removed or similar procedure after a LBL?

One year ago, I had emergency internal hernia surgery (small bowel choked off) -- just 3 weeks after my non-anchor LBL! My stomach muscles were so tightly stitched that they could not do the procedure laproscopically --- and instead made a vertical incision (about 6 - 8") through my brand new tummy muscles. The surgeon at that time SAID that if more time had passed after my tummy tuck, this open procedure wouldn't have been necessary. (My stomach was later was repaired by the plastic surgeon with yet another incision).

Now -- one year later, it appears I'm developing gallbladder problems -- and probably will need it removed. I'm hoping this can happen laproscopically since it is 13 months after my original LBL.

Anyone else have post-LBL abdominal surgery --- laproscopically???

Thanks so much in advance.

I had my gallbladder removed 6 months after my LBL. Due to the intense infection and the muscle tightening, they had to remove it open. I will say Dr. Garth did an amazing job, and you can hardly see the scar anymore (two years out).

I've had two c-sections, 5 hernia repairs, RNY, tummy tuck, buttlift (my LBL was done in two parts) and gall bladder removal. I have to say the gall bladder was the most painful of all of them, mostly due to the darn staples!

I did not have a LBL, but I had a hernia repair (with a  6x6 inch piece of mesh) and THEN a TT (same incision line) which turned necrotic resulting in a huge crate in my belly that had to heal up from the inside out.  The skin had barely closed over the wound when I had to have my gallbladder out.  The surgeon did not ahve any problem doing it lap, even having to go through the mesh and the muscle stitched OVER the mesh... so I would think you would be fine as long as the surgeon is very experienced with lap gallbladder removal.
