PS Consultation

Good afternoon!

I've spent some time perusing the message board and have learned a bunch. I have a consultation with a plastic surgeon at the end of the month for a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty (sp?)  so I am trying to prepare myself. Is there a list of questions for the surgeon somewhere already in existence that someone like me could take along with to the consultation?

I do plan to meet with at least two PSs... what attributes should I be looking for? I know the questions I would ask a general surgeon... I'm looking for the questions specific to plastic surgery.

I am still 26 pounds from goal. The surgeon that did my RNY told me at my 1 yr appointment that I probably wasn't going to lose much more. I am still losing... just slowly... about a pound a week.  I'm not sure when I am going to go through with PS, that is part of the consultation that I need answers for. Any thoughts from the group based on personal experience on waiting to meet goal or not waiting?

Thanks so much... OH has been a great resource for my journey thus far... and I'm sure I will be able to pay it forward some day.

Also, you can continue to lose weight and reach or pass your goal if you want to, just keep following the rules, and add or change up your exercise.

I urge everyone to to be at goal or at least within 10 lbs of it.

I had a breast reduction because I didn't want to wait and then lost another 40 lbs or so.......that is why I just paid another $4,000 to have the breast lifted again!!!!!!

I waited for all the rest of my procedures to be at goal (I was within 10 lbs when I did my arms).

Because I was at goal and a good BMI all the surgeon had to remove was mainly skin...no lipo at all on my tummy, back, flanks, or butt!

If you don't wait and have surgery and then loss more than 10 lbs you can be faced with saggy skin again.....not worth it in my opinion and from my own experience.

Hope that helps.....
Best wishes on your journey!
