I here and now, bow down to you gals that have had multiple procedures  and actually go back for more!!! I didn't even have muscle tightening and I am a physical and emotional mess !!

After my RNY, I was out and about in 4 days..... BA in 3 days, and gallbladder in 2 days (I actually went to a concert on the 2nd day). Today is day 5 for me and I still haven't left the house or really feel like I should. I will be going to my follow up appointment tomorrow morning and will have to at least drive and drop kids where they need to go. Emotionally I am on the verge of tears all the time . My ex has been great doing lots to help me and I have not had to exert myself physically. I know that the swelling, pain and feeling fat doesn't help. And probably that this is my 3rd surgery in less than 3 months too.

If I didn't have my OH friends, it just wouldn't be pretty at all!!

Thanks everyone!
Martha

I TOTALLY understand! I was lucky to have people in MX to recovery with because we all made each other go out, and I think it kept my mind occupied. The second I got home though, I was a couch potato and such an emotional mess. I didn't sit around and cry, but I was just sad all the time. I must have called my mom and told her I was sad 400 times. I had friends come and visit and I just wanted them to leave, even though I love them dearly. The first improvement came last week when I stopped the pain meds. Then today I went back to work, and I feel a little bit better again- still not great though. I feel like I've probably gained 10 lbs (I'm sure I did in swelling, but I mean fat). On the plus side, it can only get better from here.

I agree. What would people do without this site??? I'd go crazy!

Sorry you are blue, hang in there it'll get better.   Try to get a massage to help get the anesthesia out of your system.  Also any sort of thing that will help you to sweat it out if you are able at this point will help. Is it possible for you to go outside and take a walk?  I don't know about tt but I know for other stomach surgeries (like hernia or hysterectomy) they want you to walk as much as possible, even though it is hard to do, it speeds up the healing.  Fresh air and a little exercise always do wonders for the mood.   But hey, I'm not a doctor so take my advice with grain of salt!

I'm walking alot around the house..... the salt I would need outside for the snow and ice, so I am staying in where it is warm!!  Thanks for the suggestions!

Sorry you're feeling down, Martha : (.   Even though we know the blues come after surgery and may be prepared, it doesn't prevent us from feeling them anyway.  Hang in there and know that you'll feel a little better - both physically and emotionally -- every day!

I go in for my LBL with all the bells and whistles on Saturday.  Looking forward to getting it over with, but not looking forward to recovery :(.

Wishing you the best and sending positive thoughts your way...

Thanks Michelle,

Hopefully getting out (and getting the drain out) tomorrow will help!

Hey Michelle, remember me?  Sounds like you're doing well.   I've decided to go to Dr. Sauceda for some work hopefully in January.  I'm gonna get some facial work, brow lift and lid lift, some fat grating in to my laugh lines and my lips plus donut breast lift and augmentation, lipo on my tummy and thighs and a butt augmentation.  I also want a thigh lift and a mini tummy tuck but can't get it all done at once so I may forgo the BL/BA for the TT/TL  waiting to hear from the doc.  Good luck on Saturday and let us know how you're doing.
