Well, I sucked in my breath and called a plastic surgeon's office, this was one that my PCP had recommended to me back before my WLS for a breast reduction, they do a complimentary consulation, waiting for a call back from his scheduling secretary, she/he was on the phone. I am dreading showing my body, but my question is has anyone had any type of insurance cover a LBL and a BL after WLS?

Lets cross our fingers and toes.   Most insurances do not cover cosmetic surgery.  You will have to have well documented medical necesssity.

I am BCBS Anthiem and I am self pay.   They paid in part for my hernia repair.  Nothing on the extended TT.

Did they cover your WLS? I was told that it's basicly an automatic thing now if they cover your WLS they'll cover your TT. I just had to let my Dr take pics and send in a letter of medical necessity along with the pics...I also had to have documentation about rashes or any skin issues (which wasn't hard)...all in all it was easy

My BC/BS covered the panniculectomy portion of my surgery and didn't ask for rash documentation or anything. It was approved on photos and amount of weight loss.

Good luck!!
