I had my TT on Thurs. and this morning when I got up there was blood on my underware and the guaze that is in the area right where the drains come out from under the binder.  Is this normal?  I dont know if I should call the PS and ask.  I am not uncomfortable more than yesterday.  the drains are still collection fluid. I would appreciate any input.  Thanks. Jen

I would say that maybe your tube got pulled a bit and the area where the drain exits bleed a bit.  Was is just a small amount?  That would be normal.  My tube exit areas were messy for the first week, it was a bit larger "hole" than I expected and any time it got pulled on or moved a bit it hurt.  Now after three weeks you can hardly see where they were.

Thank you for responding.  I was thinking that was it, when I went to the bathroom last nite one had come un clipped and I didnt realize it until it flopped down.  It burned for like a whole mnute then it was fine, but maybe that is what cauzed the blood.  But it is still draining, so I guess it is ok right?  I hate to call on a saturday fro something trivial.

Hi Jennifer,

I am one of those that firmly believe I have paid my surgeon enough to call when I feel necessary.  If you are concerned, CALL!

It has been 20 years since my TT so I don't feel qualified enough to even offer an answer!  I hope things are OK.

Thanks Brooke.  I talked to my hubby and he said they told me that might happen and if there is no hard spots or as long as the drains are still collecting fluid it is normal.  I must have still been drugged up.  I usually pop back after surgery pretty quick, so I feel so useless this time.  My DH wont let me do anything.  I and cant even protest.because I am really not up to it.  I guess this is a more involved procedure than a c-section or the lap RNY.  *sigh*

Jennifer,

Good!  I'm glad you have an answer!  I totally understand not remembering.  When I was discharged after my arm surgery two weeks ago, I don't remember much!  My daughter (who heard the instructions) kept answering questions I had!

Take it easy!

I guess that is why they have someone else  listen to the po instructions. LOL  Thanks again for your input.  I love this board.

I had blood leaks for about a week in front and back I believe it is normal as long as it does not continue to bleed you are not uncomfortable or running a fever.

Best WIshes to you
