Psssssttt . . . . USA was ranked 38th overall (not stellar) by WHO in 2000 -- the last year they generated this kind of ranking.

Mexico was 61.

Argentina was 75.

And I think that survey had more to do with access to health care and cost and not standard of care.  I'm sure that if the USA were rated on quality (standard) of care, it would be #1.   Why else would wealthy people from around the world come here for treatment?

France was rated # 1 - do a lot of folks go there for surgery??

And Italy is rated #2 behind France.  I hold dual citizenship - American and Italian.  I've been treated in Italy and the care was good.  I could have had my plastics done in Venice (nice place to recooperate, hun!) but I wanted to stay close to home where my family could be with me.

Like Charming said, sometimes it's just a crap shoot. . . . .

I am belgian, I lived 10 years in Canada and now live in México City.

If one day, I have a major health issue, I can tell you I go back directly to Belgium...You can't even imagine the quality of healthcare in Europe...Top notch!! I would never consider Canada (the worst!!!)

Well and the USA as you said only for wealthy people!!!

However for plastics on heavy weight loss, I trust more north american surgeons...People in Europe being much thinner, they have less experience!

Dayum.

More and more I think -- We do our homework, and then after that it's still a crap shoot anyway.
