I know, I know, it is too soon in the process and I shouldn't see a result immediately after....but I took my garment off to wash and my arms look like fat sausages! I can't tell one bit that 600 ccs was removed from each arm (which the doc confirmed when he called to check on me last night).
Those of you who had arm lipo, how long did it take to see any difference? for swelling to go down?
Thanks!

I wish I could help, but that's how my whole body is. I'm twice the size I was when I had PS, but I'm so swollen. Can't wait to see what's under there!

I cant help either..... I used to have knees, and i am sure some day they will be back.  And like Katie my whole body feels horrible.  I think i have gained 25lbs since i had surgery. (that would be the reason that i wont step on the scale for a long time)!!

There wasn't any noticable swelling with my arms, but a lot of bruising. My results were instant.

I was looking at your pictures on your profile. The ones you posted of your arms just recently....is that extra tissue that you have fat and skin or just mostly fat? I guess your surgeon definitely felt there was enough fat to have the lipo but I don't know how that much skin is going to bounce back without it being removed. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what his plans are for you. It just appears that he didn't remove enough skin to start with.

I hope you get the results you are hoping for. It's really early out to know for sure but I hope you can avoid more surgery. I also hope your healing is fast. The arms are so tender. Please keep us updated.

Hi Renee,
I see what you  are saying. The recent pics I posted is all fat. That isn't extra skin. I have always been pretty big on my top.  If you go back and look at the pics right after the brachioplasty, they arms were so tight and there was no extra skin. I guess what happened is the scars widened and because my arms were still rather heavy, it weighed the inner arm down.

The plan was to go back in and lipo the heck out of the arms. I am praying that the arm skin retracts but I know this is unlikely. What will most likely happen is a revision to the original brachioplasty to remove the rest of the skin.

I spoke with him last night and he did remove about 600 cc's from each arm. I measured awhile ago and they are down about 2 inches each, but i am only measuring one part of the arm.

I know it is way too early to know how they will end up. I am expecting another brachioplasty, but hope the skin comes right back tight and all! LOL!

I did go back and look at your pictures and I see where right after the lift they were tight. I guess over time they just started to drop again. Did you lose more weight after having it done? Anyway, I hope this will take care of it. I'm sure you're not thrilled with the thought of having to do it all over again. Give it time and hopefully this will fix it.

Thanks Renee. Now a question for you, I havw a compression garment but am also wrapping my arms in ace bandages at night. Do you think this helps?

My arm lift was 4 weeks ago this past Wednesday. I have been in my ace bandages everyday since surgery. I have the sleeves but I just don't find them comfortable. I take my bandages off to shower and to rub my incisions with neosporin twice a day. Other than that I keep the ace bandages on. I will see my surgeon at the 6 week mark and I'm pretty sure he'll tell me I don't have to wear them anymore. I have had no swelling to speak of. I'm really sick of wearing them but I think they have really helped in my healing.

Swelling from lipo lasts a long time.  It took 4 months for my arms to be fully deflated.  After I had lipo on my outer thighs it took 3-4 months for me to really see the end result.

Swelling from lipo is much worse than swelling from surgery without any lipo. (I had no lipo with my tummy tuck and I had no swelling in my tummy).

EDIT:  I do want to clarify that while I had a good amount of swelling after the lipo on my arms I could immediately see the arms were much smaller.  I was happy.  Now I have to have the loose skin removed......another revision coming next year.
