My surgeon's nurse told me to go to www.makemeheal.com to get compression garments for my arms.  Which one do I need?  I see several.  Are THESE OK?  I will call her tomorrow, but was just wondering what others have used.  Thanks!!

The one I'm wearing is like this one,  http://www.makemeheal.com/mmh/product.do?id=10024&procid=36&catid=479.  My surgeon chose mine and it was on me when I woke up, I really didn't have a choice.  Although I kind of like it as it serves as a bra and compression all in one, one less thing for me to worry about.

I have those sleeves. I came home wrapped in ace bandages and I wore the sleeves over them at first. Eventually, I was able to just wear the sleeves.

I had sleeves like that but mine was more of a vest. Full back w/ a velcro closure in the from above and below your breast.

Just wondering if there's a front-opening garment due to the presumed difficulty of fastening from the rear  -  your arms will be pretty sore ...unless you have someone to do this for you at all times.

I have the Design Veronique one that has longer sleeves than the one on make me heal.  It is ok, like a bolero vest.  This is the one that my surgeon wanted me to have. I have used Rainey garments for my other procedures, and they are very good as well. The fabric is much softer and nicer.  I think that the sleeve only would drive me nuts though.

This is the one I'm currently wearing.

My surgeon swears by just using giant ace bandages -- 4" wide and long enough to wrap from your armpits to just below your elbows.  After a few tries, I was a dang expert at the wrapping (hold the first end with your chin, HA!) ... and you can adjust the tightness as your arms heal.  Loved 'em.  And don't try to use those stupid clips that come with the bandages; use a safety pin instead.      --Dorothy

my surgeon prefers the sleeve vests over the ace bandages. he puts the acebandages on ater surgery then the next day I will go to his office & he will replace it with the sleeves. the ace bandages are annoying I had them for my thighs and they kept slipping, the arm sleeves fit better and fit better under clothing
