I can't believe it!!

I have been lurking here for some time and was thinking I would not be getting anything done for some time, but I am getting a TT on Dec 3rd!! I am so excited, scared and nervous all at once! I cannot imagine not having a big panni hanging down.  I have had it since I lost my first 65 pounds at the age of 13!! (which I gained back and lost and gained back and lost for 25 years!!) I just want to join in now that I know it will be happening.  Dr. Monasabien is so wonderful!! His staff has worked so hard to help me with the insurance and I am shocked this is happening!! I have 4 kids and my mom and dad are flying out to help my hubby for the first 12 days.  Do you Post-opers think that will be enough time for re-inforcements?  I am just getting the traditional TT with the horizontal scar...not the vertical one too.  Will I be able do drive 2 weeks PO?  He said I will have 2 drains for the 1st week. 

I have my Pre-op on Wednesday. Are there any other questions I should ask the Dr. at that time?  I have talked to him soooo many times and I think I asked all my questions, but I know there is always something to ask.  Thanks for the info from this board.  I cant wait to join the Post-op ranks. 

I can't really answer your questions since I haven't had surgery yet, but wanted to congratulate you on your Dec date!

You should be able to drive 2 weeks post-op. And I think 12 days will be more than enough outside help as long as your family understands that you are NOT going to lug laundry baskets or vacuum.
