Swelling post panniculectomy.... how long does it last?

I just had a pannicultectomy monday with skin removal above and below the belly button along with the movement of the belly button and mons lift.  There was no muscle tightening done.  If you have had this procedure, how how did it take for the swelling to go down?

Hello Kara, you are going to swell for months. The swelling will come and go. Seems like the more active you are the more you will swell. I have mine done on 9/11/09 and I swell everyday but everyone here and my surgeons says this is completely normal. My PS says I can swell from 6 months up to a year post-op. We won't truely see the results of our tt for about 6 months. At least that is what I have been told. I can't wait until I stop swelling but who knows when that is going to be. My sister-n-law had hers done 2 years ago and she still swells sometimes.
