Oh, I was confused by "he said he wants the lipo to really heal before he cuts out the excess skin." -- I thought you meant lipo was done first.

The preferred process may be different with you because you are younger -- my skin is not snapping back anytime ever!

That was kinda confusing....basically he doesnt do lipo at the same time as the brachio.

Hi Jodi!  Doc did tell me if I needed something more for pain, he would work with me.  I'm just thinking I would rather have it "on hand" instead of him having to work with me!

I have been lurking here on the PS board and saw your face lift post.  OMG you look fantastic!  You were beautiful before, but WOW, you look younger, rested, and well, just fantastic!

My face is the last surgery on my list.  I am hoping my face lift goes as good as yours!

Thanks for the reply!

I had my arms done along with inner thighs just over 3 weeks ago and I did have lipo. It's weird but the first week or so I didn't notice much discomfort with my arms. Now at 3 weeks out they are really stinging and the compression is not comfortable. It's like they are waking up. The incisions just feel really sensitive and some days it's hard to find a comfortable position.

My surgeon gave me percocet for pain and it works well for me. My surgery was outpatient, I came home the same day but I definitely needed help the first couple of days. I would not have been comfortable going back to work at 2 weeks. I didn't feel like going anywhere for the first week or so and like Diana, I would get exhausted on the trips that I had to make.

Renee,
Thanks for the information.  The "waking up" part sounds a little scary!  I'm understanding from the posts here, I will need some help the first couple of days.  I will make sure I have someone here for the first 48 hours.

I will just go one day at a time and see when I feel like going back to work.  Luckily my boss is very understanding!

Continued success during your recovery,
Brooke

Are you wearing a compression garment on your arms? Can you tell me where you got it or is it ace wraps? How long do you have to wear them?

Many thanks!

Hi Linda,
I am wearing both. I came home wrapped in ace bandages and my post-op instructions are to keep compression on as much as possible for 4 to 6 weeks. I have the sleeves and they can be worn over top of the ace bandages or alone. Here is a link to a set that's identical to the ones I have. I was lucky and was able to get mine from a friend who had her brachioplasty done before me. I take them off to shower and to massage my incisions with neosporin. Other than that I always have them on.

Thanks!!

They don't really go into the arm pit. When you have them on and lift your arm, your arm pit area is open, so they don't bind you there.
