Panni/Tummy Tuck Question

I just had the same thing done a little over 2 weeks ago and I was pleasantly surprised at how little pain I've had.  The drains weren't that bad either and it was only for 6 days. I just had the stitches around my new belly button removed on Weds and he told me I could start doing sit ups if I wanted.
Good Luck

Hi there,
I had an extended tummy tuck with muscle repair. It wasn't bad at all! Not a lot of pain! :-) Good luck!

Just had the same procedure you are asking about done 5 days ago.  The pain is certainly manageable.  The only pain/irritation I have is at the drain sites, sometimes when the binder rides up a bit it can irritate the drain areas, other than that, its fine.  I would suggest getting some non stick badages to put over the incision so that when it does drain it doesnt stick to the cotton, that for me was very uncomfortable, since i made the change..... no issue.  The bandaging is more expensive, but well worth it!

I will do that, thanks! Who did you use for a plastic surgeon?

At 3 days out post anchor cut TT with muscle tightening the key has been taking my pain meds on schedule even if the pain was not intense.  I figure why suffer at all.  I'm now to about 7 hours between percocets and I alternate with a muscle relaxant.   I have some sharp pulling type pains which I believe are from the drains sites when I move too quickly.

The drains are a major pain in the ass. I had an anchor cut abdominoplasty, but also brachio and breasts, upper thigh lift and mons lift at the same time, so the fact that I was in acute pain isn't the TT's fault, just an extensive amount of work on a not very large gal.

I wore a dress and put my drains in a velvet pouch that I pinned just inside the bottom hem so gravity could help me out. I drained very very little, but am still swollen now-- so my fluid obviously likes to stay put!

The pain is considerable. Go into this knowing that. In my case, it was my 4th major abdominal surgery in 3 years, i think my belly's just tired of the harassment.

No regrets though-- love the flat belly, scars and all!

I have been following all of your surgeries! You are such an inspiration to me . Good luck with your move and scar revision surgery. Hopefully someday I can save enough for an ass lift...

My ass lift is tentatively gonna be in June but that's if and ONLY if someone takes pity on me and I can get a loan. I think at this point I have sunk $23k into plastics-- the remainder's gonna be about 4* more--- Holy Jeebis on a Whole Wheat cracker, that's alotta damn cash!

Scar lift had to be rescheduled-- probably in January-- because VA Beach was under water Friday.  Just as well, i didn't want to be nursing fresh stitches while moving a house!

The pain wasn't as bad as I expected.  The first 24-48 hours are the worst but as long as you take your pain pills, it's tolerable.   The drain was more of a nuisance for me than pain.  They didn't hurt at all, even when they were taken out.  It's all worth it in the end!
