Should I bother trying to get Aetna to pay for a TT?

Two of my consultation doctors sent in a request for approval.  The first one got denied.  The next week, I got an approval (Dr. DiNick).  The problem is that I'm not going with him as my surgeon... so Aetna needs a new request.  My current surgeon doesn't request any approval from insurance and won't bill separately (one is cosmetic-TT, and the panni is reconstructive).  GRRRR

You will almost certainly not get Aetna to pay for the TT, because -- unless yopur policy is different than mine was -- it specifically indicates that a TT is considered cosmetic in all cases, BUT they WILL cover the panniculectomy without a hassle if you have skin issues.  Even with a hernia that needed repair and an approved panni, they would not permit the full TT.
