I'm now 6 months post my anchor TT - LOVE IT - but...... I find that now I bloat and have trouble staying 'flat' and I think it's cause I am constipated.  Not from meds or anything, but I think I wasn't 'processing' normally before and just couldn't see it.

Might sound strange, but all that skin and fat covered up the bulge that was just poo!  Is that possbile?

anyone go on softeners or something regularly after having a TT?

I am 5 months out from my TT and I see the same thing.  I have tried stool softeners and Benefiber but nothing seems to helpbut a good old laxative for me!

I also note a "bulge" at that time of the month too.

I'm not a vet...still pre-op...But I have a major concern about this issue, once I have my TT..I have major bloat issues now!!..It's amazing how I can quickly look 5 month pregnant....

What I have done is become a detective..You have to find the triggers food that will cause it..Mine is onions and carbonated beverages.  What helps and I only do it in extreme cases (because I have the DS and it's may mess w/my malabsorbtion) is to use Beano before meals..It makes a major difference and I don't have to be as concern about my diet.

Also probiotics help.

Just wanted to give you my opinion...sorry,  I'm not a vet....

thanks for the reply - I didn't think of the 'certain foods' angle - that might be it too.

Vet or no - ideas are appreciated!!!

I still bloat at times and my surgery was 3 years ago, I attribute it to gas but on occasion it might be because I haven't gone to the bathroom.  It sucks, I thought after a year it would stop but it still happens from time to time.  The price we pay for a nice flat tummy.

Well - I'm pre-op but can say I have this type of thing now.  I started taking probiotics and it has definitely helped.  I still "pooch" depending on my carb intake.  I find in the afternoons/evenings if I snack or have dinner with carbs, it will happen.

But - the probiotics has helped me stay much more regular.... so the problem hasn't been as often.
