I'm getting SmartLipo done in 2 weeks :o)
I think Dr. L is being diplomatic, but I'll come out and say it.
1. There is almost no liposuction case which should take 5-6 hours
2. most post weight loss skin does not contract well with liposuction ("smartlipo" or not)
3. most of us who have experience operating on weight loss patients would not offer said surgery only 7 months out
4. it's not clear that the thermal damage produced by laser lipo class devices would not significantly complicate future surgery on your abdomen should you need it. Ultrasonic liposuction or VASER have more of a track record in this respect for higher volume lipo with more aggressive skin retraction, but they are usually better performed after skin resection is completed.
There are some real red flags from what you're describing. I would encourage you to save your money, lose your weight, and get reasseed properly closer to a 12-14 months out.

Thanks for all the responses!!
After reading so many opinions and talking it over with my husband this morning, I decided to wait until I get much closer to my goal weight to get another opinion on what type of PS would be best for me. Hopefully that will be before April because I would be miserable wearing those compression wraps in the Louisiana summer heat :o). At the same time , I don't want to rush in to plastic surgery hoping for a quick fix either so I will wait awhile longer. Thank you all for writing in with your concerns.
hugs,
TerSue
