I agree you should do it.  To me, it's like closing a chapter on my life and starting a fresh new one.  My extra skin has been like "bookmark" to all my obese years before.  I'll never forget but I don't need this constant reminder either.

Kristen,

My daughter (now 25) had VSG when she was 23.  She wants to have just the tummy tuck for now (no muscle work), then maybe after she has children (someday) maybe go back and get the full blown tummy tuck with muscle work.  I say if you are out of pocket just a little bit, go for it!

I would do it in a heartbeat! I lost 9 lbs from my tummy tuck....I paid all out of pocket and it really is the best thing that has ever happened! Love it!

I would say go for it.  But you really should have the surgeon submit the documentation to your insurance to see if you can get it covered.
