The PS I saw this week said 2 weeks for the TT alone & as I want my aams done at the same time - he said 3 - 4 weeks. He told me to take as much time as I felt I needed - as any lifting or undue strain on the arms can open stitches & then all that hard work would be lost.

Listen to you body & let us know how things go.

Thanks!!

Thank you everyone!  this is all really helpful advice!  I am still really scared and nervous about this. . . I will be sure to give my employer a "heads up" that perhaps I will need the third week. . . .

I think that's a good idea to ask for more time off. You can always notifiy them you are able to come back sooner if you feel up to it.

I had my face & arms done at the same time. No problem with either of them. No serious pain or problems with the recovery. The biggest problem there was a serious sore throat due to the anesthesia.

Two weeks later I had the TT & breast lift. Now that was more difficult to get over. Again, not a huge amount of pain but that time I developed a chronic hacking cough after the surgery (which is H*** on the TT!!!)

I have a sitdown computer job and went back to work after a total of 6 weeks. It wasn't PAIN that was so much of a problem. It was fatigue and the desire to lay down and rest half way through my typical 12 hour day.

I'm going to be having a revision on my TT the beginning of Dec and will be scheduling 3 weeks off...  and I'm not sure that's enough time. I hope so but we'll see!!

May I ask why you are having a TT revision?  Does that happen often?

My belly didn't heal right.

First I had a seroma (healing fluid filled pocket) that had to be drained every couple of days (about 10 times total) . The swelling was huge but that finaly went away.

Then I had what looked like a little pus spot on the incision line. He opened that & it was another pocket that needed to be cleaned daily. I did that myself (peroxide, then alcohol, then clear water & bandgae) for several months now. It is FINALLY closing. I've ended up with a hole under my belly button (looks like a second belly button under mine!!) My revision will pull my belly tighter and get rid of that hole. I am looking forward to getting this done & OVER but not looking forward to another surgery.

How often does this happen? I've read the seroma is not uncommon. I'm not sure about this other "pocket". Unfortunately, I am one it did happen to.
