Disruption in lymphatic system caused by LBL - Dr Quiroz

I think it's a combination of both, unfortunately. I have been able to see them from day one because some of the ends of the sutures are very close to my skin (which is very pale by the way, so I can probably see them better than most) and they're also rejecting. They've migrated out and created a lot of issues. I've had 2 hematomas now, both of which were caused by (we figure, anyway.. because they are surrounding a suture) the Ticron sutures.

I don't have a set doctor here. Doctors are in short supply where I live, so I've been to see ER doctors as well as Medicentre doctors for various opinions. I'd like to have Quiroz speak with a doctor here but so far no one here seems interested in sticking with my case long enough to help me get to the bottom of the issue.

Laura,

I am so sorry that you are going through this!  I also researched Dr Quiroz, and I found a lot of good info about him like you did.  I started researching on different boards and started seeing a lot of bad info as well.  I also researched his partner, Dr Fuentes, and I think he is all the rage on another board now too, but he is having a lot of issues now as well.

When I did my research on Dr Sauceda, I went back as far as 2 years when I chatted with his patients.  It was nice to find info that was not completely recent.  I am almost 4 weeks post op with him now, and I have tried to be completely honest about everything.  I have even said that I might need a small revision on my thighs, but I won't know for sure until I am farther out.  I can tell you that Dr Sauceda has been on top of my aftercare and contacting me all the time.  I had an email waiting on me from him when I got home from the airport, and I have been in contact with him daily until I got my last drain out last week.   I have also heard from him since then, and I know I will continue to hear from him.  That is just the kind of Dr he is.   No Dr is perfect, and revisions will happen.  That is just a part of the process.  I am thankful though that Dr Sauceda does offer free revisions if they are warranted.  We have already talked about my thighs, and he also thinks that they will need a small revision.

Please let me know if you have any questions, but I will give you an honest answer.  Believe me when I say that if I wasn't happy, I would let everyone know!

I wish that I had of seen some of this bad info when I was researching him ... it probably would have persuaded me to go in another direction.

I'm really glad to hear about your positive experiences so far with Dr Sauceda - he seems like a very honest surgeon.  He did tell me straight-up that he will not be able to fix my issues 100% but that he would do his best. I'd rather hear that than hear him say that he will do a perfect job and then not live up to my expectations.

What a horrible complication.  I hope you can get treated and the problem resolved very soon and with a minimum of time and pain.  The very best of luck to you.

Thank you ... I don't think it will happen soon or painlessly. The province I live in is pretty horrific with getting things done in a timely manner. I had a suture reject and create a hematoma in my abdomen and it took me 2 months of fighting with them for me to get it removed Lol

Laura, this all sucks, I am so sorry.

I want to take this opportunity to mention to the board-people that messages you read on any public, anonymous board are NOT GOOD REFERENCES.

Public message board references and referrals are

1)  not qualified
2)  since they are anonymous, they are unreliable
3)  message boards are heavily "larded" by doctors themselves, and their office staff

Please, please, please my friends -- get qualified medical referrals.  I once saw a video of Dr. "Big Medicine" Davis discussing surgery in Mexico -- he did mention one physician he himself would be willing to have operate on his own family members -- THAT is a pretty good referral (can't find the video now) ...

What you really want is a very knowledgeable, reliable medical professional who is willing to put his reputation on the line by referring someone else, who s/he thinks is also knowledgeable and reliable.

I'm not sure where I am supposed to get qualified medical referrals for Mexican plastic surgeons.

Besides, I trust & appreciate the opinions of the people who have 'been there done that' first hand with a surgeon. I am not interested in being referred to a plastic surgeon because he's buddy-buddy with my GP or because he's the *only* surgeon in the area who is *comfortable* with doing my body work.
