I was wondering at what point you could wear your pre-op pants?I had a  LBL 4 weeks ago and  I can't get my jeans to button over my belly..I seem smaller in the waist than before my surgery and I am not swelling very much at all.Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks,Sherry

Hey Sherry, not sure I am going to be much help here but I'll share my experience. My pants were loose on the waist pre-op because my butt and thighs were unproportionally big I had to buy bigger pants to fit them, so the waist was always HUGE. I did have a pair of jeans though that fit me well. At about 2 1/2 weeks out I tried on the jeans and I could get them on but they were tight. At 4 weeks out, the jeans are loose.

I really didn't swell much at all in my abdomen and I think it may be partly because I didn't have any lipo.

I suspect you are still a bit swollen and may be retaining water.

Hopefully you'll get some more input that will help you.

If I remember correctly, I returned to work after 2 weeks off and work my pre-LBL pants.  I went down a size in a couple of months after that.

Sherry,

I think this answer is different for everyone.  For me, I was back in PreOp jeans immediately.  At six weeks, I was down one size and then at three months I was down another size to my current size 6.  I guess because I had a lot removed, my swelling size was equal to my PreOp size.  My total size loss was two sizes over about three months.

Some folks take six months to get down to their new normal.  Just monitor your sodium intake, drink your fluids, wear your binder and I'm sure things will get to the new normal very soon.  Good Luck.  Donna
