I think her surgery is the 3rd! I will be there on the 8th for surg on the 9th. I cant wait to meet her!!

And you know Soapy, all of us pre-op'rs are going to be hanging out waiting to hear all about it.  I bet you are getting excited!  This is an exciting part of our journey!

Oh yeah!! Getting quite excited and starting to put my packing list together, Trying not to pack unnecessary stuff. They are charging me 25.00/bag each way, so the less I need the better.

I will keep you all posted on my trip and recovery. Watching the others go through theirs was so important to my decision making and peace of mind...I will definitely pay it forward.

Teri, Which airlines are you flying with?  I better check on my luggage requirements.

Delta...not my favorite, but I wanted to leave from Syracuse, not Albany (NY) and Delta was the cheapest of the options. I am not crazy about this baggage charge...then there is the fuel surgcharge....no free food...crazy security stuff.

Remember the good old days...cheap airfares, great service, full meals, free pillows and blankets if you wanted them...everyone smiled from check-in to landing? Remember "is this anyway to run an airline...you bet it is!" with a smiling and beautiful Andrea Drom laying across a surfboard in the commercials. NO MORE!! Move along...take off your shoes, rough manhandling, dour, nasty people in security. (of course, not everyone is like that...but even one makes a bad situation worse.)  Oh, I wish I could just drive!!

I am flying out Continental and I get 1 free bag for international flights. I am hoping to get everything in that with exception to a carry on...ugh
