I woke up yesterday morning and was feeling some pain at the drain site. After further inspection, I realized that the stitch that was holding the drain in place and ripped through my skin and nothing was holding my drain in! I instant messaged Dr Sauceda immediately, and he gave me the ok to go ahead and take it out! It was still draining at 50ml to 55ml per day, but he said to go ahead and remove it. I was worried that it would hurt like the others, but I decided to take it out myself because I had no desire to drive 45 min to the hospital to just remove a drain. I sprayed a little Bactine on the opening and pulled the drain out. It took less than 15 seconds and no pain at all! I am thinking the Bactine numbed it just enough to keep the pain away. It feels so great to be drain free, but I know the swelling is coming. I already have a ton of swelling, and I am noticing more than usual today, especially in the groin area. Here is a picture that I took right after removal. It isn't great, but it was nice to be able to put on normal stuff and not have to worry about a drain! I am 3 weeks post op.

Thanks Charming!
Bactine is my friend! Love the stuff! I think since my skin was already torn from the stitch, it didn't hurt as bad.
