Day 10 Post TT
Well I made it. I'm at day 10 Post -TT. Last Wed I went in for the final stage of my PS...the dreaded TUMMY TUCK!! After all of the posts that I had read here( not every post of course) and saw on other boards & even heard from my Drs office staff about this was the most painful surgery I was TERRIFIED. In fact the day of surgery I was supposed to go under at 11 then at 12 then finally was taken in at 2pm(I was actually fine with the reason for the delays. The pt he had in before me needed some finetuning & I knew he would take good care of me as he was with her!) I had decided I was taking my marbles & going home every 15 minutes past 11 that passed I was not what I expected painwise..NOW DON'T GET ME WRONG ABOUT THE POSTS HERE!!! Every post here was accurate as to what each of you experienced, good & bad...I was just REALLY (knock on wood) lucky. The only bad time was when my DM(God bless her) decided to SPACE my pain meds to 5 hours instead of 4 on my 2nd day. I was IN HORRIBLE PAIN. But by listening to all of you & setting alarms to take my meds on time for the first few days, I don't remember any real pain. Knock on wood that I don't jinx myself...I got my drains out today. I only pulled (let me drop to my knees in agony even THINKING ABOUT IT!) each of drains once...Which was enough. They never bothered me. They felt weird coming out but no pain. My belly button looks good, just a small bit of ooze that is clearing up. BUT I apparently didn't take enough stool softners and was in much pain from constipation from day 6 until today. Finally worked that out a little while ago.Well I'm headed to bed. will post what pix I did get taken within the next few days.
Congrats! I'm so glad you had good pain control. Everyone is right. It's best to not let the pain start before taking the meds. It's an important rule for me to remember! I have my surgery in 32 days from today! I'm getting a little nervous just thinking about it!

Its nice to see a postive post 10 days post op.. It gives me hope.. This forum is just a tool to gather information .. like you said everyones experience is different.. nothing is set in stone. I am getting my TT on Nov 18th so needless to say I am trying to stay strong.. R u able to ambulate w/o difficulty at this time? I will be out of work for total of 20 days .. that is my concern ..will I be able to go to work after 20 days post op.. Nurse on her feet all day I should say night...thanks for sharing your journey with us ..

I had an LBL and was back to work after 4 weeks. Granted it is a desk job but I was able to move around, just a bit more slowly than before and I think most of that was because I still had 1 drain in my thigh and the work they did on my thighs from the LBL. Just be aware that once you do go back to work you may have a lot more swelling.
If possible, I would start to increase your activity level at home. I was out walking within a week and at 3 weeks (once one drain came out of my thigh) was at the gym on the treadmilll for at least an hour. Still didn't really prepare me for 8 hours on the job but every little bit helped.
Best wishes on your upcoming surgery an an easy recovery for you.

I am using a lift recliner still and I do think that has been a great help from the beginning. But I'm able to get up & down from chairs and in & out of the chair with no help. I'm just careful to not not make any sudden directional changes! LOL I'm going back to work at 13 days(I have a desk job at the Gaylord Resort & Convention Center)on Tuesday. Besides being a little tired I'm ready to get out there. I have some swelling if I don't put my legs up periodically but that is getting better. I being sure to not cough or laugh!Which is VERY hard for me! The laughing at least.
