Hi Lynn, Good idea to have the mamorgram before the augmentation or lift or both. Aso my plastics doctor said to make sure you have the implants put under the breast rather then on top because you can do your mamogram better to check for cancer. Also they recommend having a digital mamogram after having implants.                                     Gail

Thank You to Everyone for all your replies     I just had one done last Monday and they found  a suspecious lump, after about 4 spot compressions and an ultrasound (I work in a teaching hospital and they were very nice and did not make me wait for follow-ups) they said they thought it was benign and to get another mammogram in three months.  My GYN Doc wanted a Breast Surgeon to check, so I go in next Tuesday to see him.  I am 50 and needed the mammogram, but mainly was do planning for some 'body maintaince' work next year, I want a Breast Lift, Arm Lift and Tummy Tuck (and to win the Lottery)   I am trying to get all my ducks in a row and be healthly for surgeries.  Thanks again.

Hi, yes it was required before my surgery.

Since my implants in May (under the muscle), I had my first mammogram just last week.  It was a digital one.  I came out clean.  Didn't hurt at all.

Not sure when I will have the recommended MRI. I think that is in 2 years.
