Ladies,

My Mom will be there the whole time with me, and is quite the "motherly" type. I am sure she can take care of the 3 of us!! I am asking Dr. S if we can get our rooms close.

Thank you. I am a tad nervous to be there by myself after the surgery but I have a 4 year old and a 7 year old and it would be worse on them for us both to be gone and my sister won't have new vacation time til after the first so I was thinking she could come down and fly back with me. After reading Jessica's story and talking to Tony I might try to fly back alone. Still thinking on that.

We will be leaving on the 6th, and have a stop in Houston. When and where will you be flying in to?

Leah, Jessica (ivfmommee) had lots done 3 weeks ago and went there alone AND she has 2 little ones at home. I am sure that missing her family was the hardest part. There will be others from here when you are there...it always seems to work out that way, so you will have company to help while away the days.

Jess would be a great one to correspond with...she has the experience behind her now and is very willing to answer any questions. You can find her with a search...just plug in ivfmommee and you will find her. Or go to her blogspot. I think it is www.livingtheskinnylife.blogspot.com. If that fails, just look for her here...you will find her. (if this link fails, try using blog instead of blogspot)

A few weeks before hand, you need to get a CBC, PT and PTT. The CBC is a complete blood count that tells you how many white and red blood cells you have. The PT/PTT tests clotting time. I ordered both through my PCP, but I was worried about how that was going to work. I didn't have a problem.

Thanks Katie!
I knew he wanted a CBC, but I didn't remember the PT/PTT.
I'm going to get mine drawn in a few weeks.  Did he say anything about a EKG?

He didn't! Hope I don't need one, but I've driven him crazy with 100 "we're confirmed, right?" emails, so I'm sure he would have said something by now. I'm down to two weeks, two days! Whoo hoo!!

Ha!  I have sent him a few of those also.  I'm sure he understands.  My fear is that I'll get there and something will happen and the surgery won't happen.
When I had my Lap Band surgery - I had my IV, heparin shot and all the preop meds - then the Anesthesiologist changed his mind about doing my surgery because of my family history of Malignant Hyperthermia.  It was horrible!

You might want to check Kat....he told me to get one. I think you do...better double check. He wouldnt want you to get there and find out you had an anomoly and have to decline the procedure.

Hey, get on it..it wont be long! See you there.

I wondered about that because that is pretty common with pre-op testing.
