How can you get insurance to cover some of your plastic surgery?

I was told that my insurance covers some of skin removal surgery as long as it is medically necessary.

Does anyone know how to go about this.

Someone told me to keep going to the dermatologist and say I am itching a lot and getting rashes.

Has anyone actually done this successfully and had some insurance covereage?

Just curious if it was something I should pursue.

Aetna offers 15k in skin removal coverage but I don't know how to make sure i can get this benefit.

Thanks!

Kevin

Have you called and talk to the insurance company about what the 15k skin removal means and covers.  They don't need to know your sotry, you just want information.

By what I got in a post I had last week about getting things approved the more you have documented the better chance you have, but it doesn't mean much.  By what I can tell most people are going to Mexico and having Dr. S do the plastics.

Dr. LoMonaco (Big Medicine and a frequent poster on the forum) has written a couple of articles on getting insurance approval.  You can find them at the following sites:

the insurance article starts on page 5 think.
