First consultation tomorrow
I called today and was able to schedule a consultation with one of the plastic surgeons tomorrow. I have 6 picked out that I wanted to talk to. I made appts with 3 of them so far. I have the one tomorrow, one next Wed and the other on the 4th. I hope I can find one I like and trust. I have my list of questions and can't wait to get it all started. any advice or some questions maybe I didn't think of? TIA
ETA: I'm going in for tummy tuck and breast lift or breast reduction (not sure which yet). I'm also looking into arms and thighs and maybe a LBL.

What are you hoping to have done? Some questions depend on what you plan to do.
I asked their opinion on multiple procedures.
How long for the procedure?
How long in the hospital or surgery center?
How long until I can drive?
Drains? How long?
Meds? Type? How long?
Staples or stitches?
Ask about scar care.. silicone strips? Anything you need to purchase?
Do you need to stop any of your prescription meds beforehand? How long before?
Do you need to stop any vitamins before? or add any?
Best of Luck!!

Hi!
Best wishes as you interview potential surgeons. Do yourself a favor and be sure to meet with as many as you need to until you find the one that feels right. You'll know it when you find the right one.
Ask lots of questions.....
Are they board certified
How many patients have they worked on who lost a lot of weight.
What are his/her policies about after-care and revisions (hopefully you don't need revisions but you need to know)
Tell him/her YOUR expectations....ask if they are realistic
Ask if they had any major issues with patients recovery
I always ask if they "lost" any patients (aka died) - you can also find this on-line on your States records.
Ask for 3-5 references that you can call (tell them you only want to talk to people who had the same procedure(s) you are having done).
Ask which procedure they feel they are most comfortable doing or an 'expert' at and which they are least comfortable doing. Some guys specialize in breasts.....if you are having your face done you might want to go to someone who specializes in faces. Some are comfortable doing it all...but it's worth asking. I meet with one surgeon who would not touch the face....(he only specializes in body work).
Here's a lot of good info for you......

Best wishes on your journey. Do your homework well and you'll be happy in the end......

Thank you so much Ruth. I was supposed to have my insurance cover my tt and BR, but my husband ended up getting out of the military and we lost our insurance, but they gave us a pretty nice severence. I'm kind of glad now because I can do self pay and find a doctor I am comfortable with. I'm looking forward to this and will definitely take my time. I'm getting pretty excited to finally have the ball rolling. :) Thanks again.
