STUPID question?
I'm looking at all of the drains people have and then reading about the compression garments and (is this a stupid question?)I'm wondering how you can have the drains in wearing the garments? Don't the compression garments press the drains either into your skin or the pressure stop the draining from happening?

No worries.....depending on how many drains you have and where they are there are always ways for the tubes to hang out of the garment. Sometimes I ran my drain line out through the crotch opening...other times I pulled it up through the waist...just depends on the garment type and the location of the drains. You surgeon (well his/her nurse) will know how to place the drains when they dress you in the binder or garment.
I might have a picture posted of my drains hanging out from my garment.....I'm not sure about that but I can check.

Compression garments are made so that the drains can be arranged through, in, above, around their openings (use any prepositions that you like). They are made of a fabric that is supposed to maintain integrity when holes are poked in it (for drains).
By the way, this is not a stupid question. These would be stupid questions:
What do rocks eat?
If a turtle loses its shell, is it naked -- or homeless?
Why can't purple be green, instead?

The draining happens because they work on suction. Once the drain is empty, you squeeze the drain bulb with the valve open then close the valve and wallah! suction! You can hang them upside down from a banana tree if you like :) NOT a stupid question. Also the drain lines are partially under the CG, and it does depress the skin a bit. I always remembered having to adjust mine, just irritating at times.
